Infectious dose 50% (ID50)

Infectious dose (ID) is the amount of pathogen (measured in number of microorganisms) required to cause an infection in the host. Infectious dose 50% (ID 50) is the amount of pathogen (quantity or concentration) required to cause an infection in half the hosts of a tested population after specified test duration.
