Sampling

The act, process, or technique of selecting a suitable sample;
1. the act, process, or technique small parts are taken as samples - following defined sampling procedures - for inspection or analysis in order to obtain reliable information about the nature and composition of CBRN substances or contaminated material or
2. Selecting a representative part of a population for the purpose of determining parameters or characteristics of the whole population.
