EMBRACE Consortium Meets in Athens for Successful Mid-Term Review

On 11 June 2026, the EMBRACE consortium gathered in Athens, Greece, for the project's Mid-Term Review Meeting, bringing together project partners, representatives of the European Commission and external experts to assess progress and discuss the roadmap for the next phase of the project.

The review provided an opportunity to showcase the achievements delivered during the first half of the project and demonstrate how EMBRACE is advancing Europe's preparedness and response capabilities for biological and toxin-related threats.

Throughout the meeting, partners presented progress across the project's technical developments, operational activities and stakeholder engagement efforts. Discussions highlighted the continued development of the EMBRACE BioTox Hub, advances in training and capacity-building activities and the strengthening of collaboration among practitioners, researchers and decision-makers across Europe.

The review also enabled valuable exchanges with reviewers, whose feedback will help guide the project's activities during the coming months. Particular attention was given to ensuring that EMBRACE solutions remain aligned with end-user needs and contribute effectively to the wider European civil protection and disaster resilience landscape.

Beyond reviewing achievements, the meeting served as an important milestone for planning the second half of the project. Partners discussed upcoming demonstrations, validation activities and opportunities to maximise the project's long-term impact and sustainability.

The consortium would like to thank all participants for their constructive contributions and continued commitment to the project's objectives.

As EMBRACE moves into its next phase, partners remain focused on delivering innovative tools, knowledge and collaborative frameworks that strengthen Europe's ability to anticipate, prepare for and respond to biological and toxin-related emergencies.

Stay tuned for further updates as EMBRACE continues to advance its mission of enhancing resilience through innovation, cooperation and preparedness.
