First meeting of the EMBRACE Biotoxin Task Force (BTF)

The EMBRACE Biotoxin Task Force (BTF) convened in early December to shape its workplan for 2026, marking an important moment for the community. Members now have access to a dedicated CMINE portal featuring EMBRACE 2025 presentations and a growing library of biotoxin-related preparedness resources.

Looking ahead, a central focus for the coming year will be the flagship position paper, State of the Biotoxin Union. This document will take stock of current capabilities and gaps, and set out actionable recommendations for policymakers, operational leaders and researchers.

Alongside this, the BTF has outlined an active schedule of 2026 engagements across policy platforms, responder-oriented events, scientific meetings and industry exhibitions. These touchpoints will offer opportunities to present emerging insights, stress-test ideas with practitioners and expand the expert network.

Member contributions will continue to shape priorities, themes and outputs as the work advances.
