Technical Solutions for CBRN Sample Tracking: EMBRACE BTF Micro-Webinar Explores Innovation for Better Preparedness
The third edition of the EMBRACE Biotoxin Task Force Micro-Webinar Series brought together responders, researchers and CBRN practitioners for an engaging discussion on how technological innovation is improving the collection, tracking and management of CBRN samples.
Hosted by Chris Singer of the EMBRACE Biotoxin Task Force, with expert contributions from Sebastian Simonsen, Project Manager at Prometech, the session examined the critical role that effective sample tracking plays throughout the response to biological and chemical incidents. Participants explored how emerging technologies can strengthen operational capabilities while supporting faster, more informed decision-making during emergencies.
The webinar focused on three key themes: the essential capabilities required for effective CBRN sampling, the current operational gaps that continue to challenge responders and the innovative technologies that are helping address these challenges. Discussions also looked ahead to future priorities for enhancing preparedness through improved interoperability, digitalisation and collaboration across organisations and borders.
Throughout the session, participants actively contributed questions and shared practical experiences from their own work, reinforcing the importance of continuous dialogue between end users, technology developers and researchers. These exchanges highlighted that technological innovation must be guided by operational needs to deliver solutions that are practical, interoperable and capable of supporting responders in complex emergency situations.
